Mark Selby branch consultant faces the challenge of his life |

Mark Selby, a branch consultant of Fylde Coast branch, is facing the challenge of a lifetime as he gears up to run the London Marathon.
Mark, 32, only started running last year and was more comfortable sitting on the sofa with his feet up eating pizza, but on April 17th 2011 he will be donning his shorts and running 26.2 miles to raise money for The Shaw Trust, which helps support disabled and disadvantaged people into work. "I’ve never been massively into exercise," says Mark. "The last time I got any serious exercise was at school. And that was 12 years ago! Now I'm running four times a week, and I've had to knock the pizza and curries on the head, well almost! I must be crazy!" The hard work will all be worthwhile for Mark if he succeeds in raising £1500 for The Shaw Trust. Mark’s colleagues in the Fylde Coast branch have arranged a raffle with the top prize of a hamper. "My friends and family have been very generous and I hope all my work colleagues will sponsor me if they can," says Mark. "Even a few pounds will make a huge difference and enable The Shaw Trust to continue their invaluable work supporting disabled people." "It is a difficult time for anyone finding work at the moment," Mark explained. "But the work the Shaw Trust does is vital to ensure people are given their independence and opportunity without discrimination, along with encouraging people to move from benefits into work.”
You can sponsor Mark by visiting his online fundraising page on: http://www.justgiving.com/Mark-Selby-running You can pay by credit or debit card, and the money will go directly to The Shaw Trust. Where supporters are UK taxpayers, the charity will automatically receive 28% extra in Gift Aid, which makes Justgiving the most efficient way of sponsoring Mark. The Shaw Trust is a national charity which supports disabled and disadvantaged people to prepare for work, find jobs and live more independently.
