Advantage Healthcare has been awarded use of the 'Positive About Disabled People' symbol in recognition of it's commitment to using the abilities of disabled people effectively within it’s organisation.
The award came following a comprehensive review of Advantage Healthcare's systems and procedures, which included reviewing how the organisation ensures disabled people are treated throughout the recruitment process and how the company works with existing employees who may become disabled.
Advantage Healthcare has been recognised as having a positive approach to to employing disabled people and will;
- Interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities
- Ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss, at least once a year, with disabled employees what can be done to make sure they can develop and use their abilities
- Make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment
- Take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make these commitments work
- Each year, review the commitments and plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Job Centre Plus know about progress and future plans.
Peter Holmes, Recruitment Manager for Advantage Healthcare says; "We have always been committed to equal opportunities and the employment of disabled people. We are proud to be able to display the Positive About Disabled People symbol and are proud of what it represents".
