Advantage Healthcare’s Portsmouth branch has been given an exciting opportunity to provide three full time nurse assessors to work directly for a local PCT in the Fareham, Southampton and Fleet areas.
The nurse assessors will be required to visit clients in their own homes, carry out assessments and make decisions about the care package required. They will also be responsible for referring PCT clients to local nursing agencies to provide the care that they need.
This is an excellent opportunity for the Portsmouth branch to have direct involvement in the development of care packages from within the PCT and will allow them to gain a greater understanding of how client referrals are made to local nursing agencies.
Joseph Bower, Portsmouth Branch Manager, says; ‘This is an excellent result, and hopefully the roles will continue for a lengthy period. We will have regular contact with our nurses to understand what new care packages are available, where geographically the work is, and more about the internal workings of a PCT.’
Three nurses already registered with the Portsmouth branch have been offered and accepted the assessor roles and will be starting before Christmas.
