Advantage Healthcare requires Live-in Support Workers to assist a young gentleman with spinal injuries to maintain as full and active life as possible. You will be living with the family in their own home so you will need to be versatile to fit in.

Previous experience with spinal injuries would be an advantage but not necessary as full client specific training will be given. Previous care experience is essential however due to the nature of the clients needs and NVQ 2/3 desired but not essential. Excellent communication skills and flexibility are required.

Duties will include;

• All aspects of personal care including assistance with eating and drinking
• Assistance with medication and any other medical needs that occur that training will be provided
• To maintain the clients privacy and dignity at all time.
• A full daily living regime will be in place to maintain a comfortable standard of living

Healthcare Assistants

Advantage Healthcare urgently needs Healthcare Assistants for work in and around the Liverpool area. You must have a good clinical background as our clients are automated peritoneal dialysis patients and you would be visiting them in their own homes. We are offering excellent rates of pay from £9.25 with travel expenses available*! Due to the nature of the work you must be a car owner with a full UK driving license. We have work available immediately so don’t delay!

You will be required to visit patients once a day and duties may include;

• Remove used bags and empty drain bags from dialysis machine
• Check drained dialysis fluid for signs of infection
• Check readings on dialysis machine
• Check patient’s blood pressure and weight
• Complete patient record
• Set up dialysis machine with new bags and ancillaries
• Carry out PD catheter exit site check and re-dress as appropriate
• Review stocks and arrange delivery as appropriate
• Contact patient’s own PD unit if any problems arise

Home Carers

Advantage Healthcare is currently recruiting experienced and professional Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers to provide care and support to our clients in their own homes. We have various shifts available including days and nights so you can work to fit in with your other commitments.

Good communication skills are essential and Skills for Care, NVQ 2/ NVQ3 is desirable but not essential as full training can be given to successful candidates. Previous experience in a similar position in the UK is essential and you will be required to provide clinical references that cover recent skills and experience.

Duties will depend on the individual client but may include;

• Assistance with washing and changing and other aspects of personal care
• Assistance with medication
• Support the service users to maintain a good quality of life in the home environment
• Maintaining good written communications on all aspects of care
• Some house keeping duties may be required these may include cooking. washing, shopping and light cleaning duties
• Supporting clients with activities including social activities
